Hey everyone,
Back in 2007 I was in a sedan rollover and ejected from the back seat going 100km/h. I sustained a T-12 compression fracture but was conscious and experienced no pain at the time. I was in the hospital for one week (no surgery) and was required to wear a back brace for three months. At the time of my checkup my specialist said that it looked like I had healed quite nicely (can't remember the exact details, it was a while ago and I was young and stupid). He also said that it would not get better throughout the years, only slowly degrade.
I think that's starting to happen now, however I'm not sure if I am just overthinking or if it is something unrelated to the injury. Since the injury every now and then I feel stiffness and soreness in my lower back, however very rarely pain. When I do feel pain it incapacitates me and any movement is impossible/very difficult for at least a day. My girlfriend has noticed that my back is "humped" or "hunched" near the injury, however I'm not sure if she is just overthinking things as well.
Onto the current issues, I'm currently in Iceland and over the past several days I have noticed a pins and needles feeling in my feet, almost feels like there are hundreds of tiny shards of glass in my shoes. At first I thought it was just a random feeling but it seems to be fairly consistent as of late. I skateboard quite a bit so I thought it might have something to do with that. I'm sure it's not due to the weather as it is much colder in Canada.
I'm not sure what I'm asking, maybe if someone has had a similar experience or is knowledgeable in this subject they can give me some experiences and what to expect in the future. I did a bit of physio therapy after my accident and stay fairly active (running, long distance skateboarding, walking [I don't drive]) although I do not stretch nor lift weights.
Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any information you can provide.
